Sintra

Located 30 minutes away from Lisbon, Sintra is a fairy-tale town where nature and palaces combine in a magical way. The forest hides some of the most beautiful historical buildings and many mystery stories.

Prepare to be dazzled by the environment of the cozy village of Sintra as you make your way to the outstanding Villa Palace, located in the very heart of the town. The postcard landmark is quite iconic due to its two enormous chimneys taking you back to a time where the Portuguese Royal Family would use the site as a vacation place. From the windows of the Palace, look up to the Sintra Mountain and spot the colorful Pena Palace that overlooks the entire region. 
And, of course, a visit to Sintra must be completed with the wonderful Quinta da Regaleira, a place where the different styles of architecture and decoration will make you feel like you have entered a completely different world.

To end the day, be sure to pay a visit to the “Piriquita” shop where you can buy the delicious “Travesseiros de Sintra” and its “Queijadas” which are absolutely wonderful. These local delicacies are, for itself, worth a visit to the lovely Sintra.
